Microsoft Staffing Solution vs. PeopleSoft

During their search for a new financial and pay/bill system they narrowed the field to PeopleSoft and Microsoft Dynamics. “While evaluating financial systems we chose Microsoft Dynamics GP over PeopleSoft for several reasons” said Damen Ng, CFO at Design Group Staffing. “The upfront software and implementation costs were much lower with Microsoft Dynamics. Microsoft Dynamics has also been much less expensive to maintain so our ongoing total cost of ownership is also much lower and things like upgrading to the latest versions of the software have gone very smoothly.”


The Professional Advantage staffing industry solution has also earned the “Certified for Microsoft Dynamics” accreditation. Solutions that are Certified for Microsoft Dynamics have demonstrated development quality and compatibility with Microsoft Dynamics by passing rigorous software solution testing. It also requires the solution have customers registered with Microsoft who are successfully using the solution and willing to recommend it.

 

Ng continues “The fact that Microsoft Dynamics GP has been specifically tailored to the staffing industry by Professional Advantage was also very important. We found the out of the box staffing pay/bill system provided by Professional Advantage to enhance Microsoft Dynamics GP was a much better fit for us than the PeopleSoft solution which would have required significant customization to meet our requirements. That option didn’t fit with our budget or timelines.”


The shorter implementation time made it easier for Design Group to manage the risk involved with implementing a new system. They were able to implement a full back office financial system with an integrated staffing pay/bill solution as well as web time entry and approval for employees and contractors and have the entire project come in under budget.


Not only was the functionality better for Design Group, but Dynamics GP could be maintained with existing staff which also greatly reduced the total ongoing cost of the new system.
