Retail Analytics & Merchandise Planning – RAMP

When it comes to merchandise planning many retailers are restricted by a lack of timely and accurate information on their sales, stock turn and customer demand. The RAMP system is designed to give retailers insight into their performance and resolve their biggest dilemma – minimizing inventory stock while maximizing inventory availability.

Retail Analytics

Retail Analytics for Microsoft Dynamics RMS is designed to help retailers manage their business by delivering analytical reporting on business performance. Easily identify trends, buying patterns, seasonality, and other key performance indicators for your business.

Retail Analytics gives your organization a wide view of information. A few measures our customers analyze include:

  • Margin

  • Revenue

  • Sell through rates

  • Stock turn

These key performance indicators can then be viewed and compared by different dimensions such as: store, salesperson, department, item matrix fields, item, supplier and date/period.

You can easily drag and drop the fields into an Excel Pivot Table or use graphical analysis. The user can easily create a report such as:

  • Product Margin - Which suppliers provide you with the best margins?
  • Average Sale Dollars by Cashier – What cashier gives you the highest dollar value per transaction?
  • Sell Through Rates by Store - Are you managing your inventory to stay within optimal stock levels?
  • Sales by Time of Day - When are customers buying so you can staff accordingly?
  • Quantity sold by Style - Size, color, etc. - what products are selling and which are destined to be clearance items?

You can also use multiple combinations to analyze things such as comparing revenue this year vs. last year in a line graph with the ability to restrict by Store, Supplier, Department, Item, etc.

Merchandise Planning

Retail Analytics can also be extended with an optional Merchandise Planning module for those organizations that want to further automate their purchasing and replenishing process. Retail Analytics with Merchandise Planning (RAMP) delivers the information required to analyze and effectively manage the inventory and buying processes. The system suggests store transfers and purchase orders that can be analyzed and fine-tuned by the buyer. Once the buyer approves these activities they are generated as transactions in the Microsoft Dynamics RMS.

Customers using RAMP achieve optimizations of current inventory availability as the solution utilizes slow moving inventory from other stores prior to purchasing additional stock from the vendor. Buying Managers also achieve greater control of buyers' spending budgets.

We were able to integrate four previous systems into Retail Analytics (RA) giving us a single view of our sales and inventory for our stores and other businesses.  This has eliminated duplicate entry of data and discrepancies among multiple systems. We have been using Retail Analytics for over two years and highly recommend it to other retailers.
