Retail Analytics

Retail Analytics for Microsoft RMS is designed to help retailers manage their business by delivering analytical reporting on business performance. Easily identify trends, buying patterns, seasonality, and other key performance indicators for your business.

If you enter it in RMS you can report on it in Retail Analytics. A few examples of measures our customers analyze include:

  • Margin

  • Revenue

  • Sell through rates

  • Cost of Goods Sold

  • Tenders

Those measures can then be viewed and compared by different dimensions such as:

  • Store

  • Salesperson

  • Department

  • Item Matrix Fields

  • Item

  • Supplier

  • Date/Period

You can easily drag and drop the fields into an Excel Pivot Table or use graphical analysis. There are a huge number of potential combinations including:

  • Sales vs COGS by Supplier - Which suppliers provide you with the best margins?

  • Tender by Type by Cashier - Why does one cashier receive 20% less cash tenders than the store average?

  • Sell Through Rates by Store - Are you managing your inventory to stay within optimal stock levels?

  • Revenue by Time of Day - When are customers buying so you can staff accordingly?

  • Quantity sold by Matrix - Size, Color, Style - what sizes are selling and which are destined to be clearance items?

You can also use multiple combinations to analyze things such as comparing revenue this year vs. last year in a line graph with the ability to restrict by Store, Supplier, Department, Item, etc.

Retail Analytics is so powerful and easy to use that if you are a current RMS customer using HQ we will give you a demonstration on your live data FREE! Contact us at profad@profad.com to arrange your live data demonstration.

Merchandise Planning with Open to Buy

Retail Analytics can also be extended with an optional Merchandise Planning module for those organizations that want to further automate their purchasing process. Retail Analytics with Merchandise Planning (RAMP) delivers the information required to analyze and effectively manage the inventory and buying processes. The system suggests store transfers and purchase orders that can be analyzed and fine-tuned by the buyer. Once the buyer approves these activities they are generated as transactions in the Microsoft Retail Management System.

Customers using RAMP achieve optimizations of current inventory availability as the solution utilizes slow moving inventory from other stores prior to purchasing additional stock from the vendor. Buying Managers also achieve greater control of buyers' spending budgets.

Key Features

  • Deliver of information driving intelligent transactional processing

  • Open to Buy functionality to control spending exceeding budget

  • Utilization of existing inventory prior to purchasing additional inventory

  • Demand drivne purchasing versus purchasing based on personal 'best estimate'

RAMP delivers benefits including:

  • Reduction of effort required in gathering necessary business information
    to effectively manage the business

  • Increased revenue by more effective buying ensuring that merchandise
are in the store when required i.e. no 'stock outs'

  • Reduced costs due to implementation of buying controls

  • Increased profits by optimizing current inventory and reducing costs

Microsoft Retail Management & Dynamics GP Integration

“We were able to integrate four previous systems into Retail Analytics (RA) giving us a single view of our sales and inventory for our stores and other businesses.  This has eliminated duplicate entry of data and discrepancies among multiple systems. We have been using Retail Analytics for over two years and highly recommend it to other retailers.”

“We have been using RAMP for three years and love the Retail Analytics (RA) reports. We use these reports to run our business. Merchandise Planning (MP) has improved our sales over time by suggesting the right products to stock based on sales history.

We also added RMS ConnectPro over a year ago which streamlined our data input and provides us much better accounting and financial information in GP.”
